Fun In 21

Every year I always do this blog post. It is a little look back at our year and all the fun we had. It usually includes several trips, celebrations, work events and so much more. This year was a little different and kept us home a lot, though not as much as 2020, but we learned to make the best of it and stay positive. We are excited to see what 2022 holds for us. May this new year bring you much joy and fun. May you find peace, love and success. May this year bring new happiness, new goals, new achievements, new inspirations and above all good health! Wishing you nothing but happiness in the new year. Here’s to another year full of joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Remember, no matter how hard the past has been, you can always begin again! Please remember to stay safe and stay home.

January

We spent the month at home.  The kids were still doing distance learning.  We watched lots of movies, completed a lot of puzzles and enjoyed spending time together.

February

We spent the month in festive love wear, making lots of heart shaped pizzas, playing Yahtzee (a lot) and other games and being together.  Blake and I also received our first dose of the COVID 19 vaccine.

We spent another month at home.  Celebrating St. Patrick's Day.  Blake and I also received our second dose of the vaccine.

We celebrated Easter at home.  You can find more Easter fun here.

May

We celebrated Kennedy's 7th birthday.  We visited Universal Studios for the opening of The Secret Life Of Pets Ride and celebrated May 4th Star Wars Day.  We also visited LEGOLAND for the opening of LEGO Movie World.  The kids also started tennis lessons.  It was a great great month.

June

We celebrated my birthday.  Kennedy got to interview Brie Larson /Captain Marvel.  We went to Las Vegas for less than 24 hours to take the kids to Marvel Avengers Station and the kids finished the school year.  We were invited to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in Hollywood which was so much fun and we can't wait to go back.  We also visited Solvang, Santa Barbara and fed some ostriches!  We were also invited to a special screening of Spirit Untamed before it hit theaters to the public.  It was our first time back to the theater and we had our own private screening and theater just the four of us and all the snacks we could want.

You can see more of Kennedy's interview with Brie Larson here.

We all survived a year of distance learning so that calls for lots of confetti!

July

We spent 4th of July at home.  Blake started busy season and Kennedy ended up in the hospital for a week at LA Children's Hospital (we went to LA for an event we were supposed to attend, but never made it because Kennedy got sick the day of the event) and we found out she had SIBO in her small intestines, which was why she had been feeling so sick since December 2020 and losing weight, had no appetite and other issues we were having with her.  We were finally so happy to have some answers in July after visiting LA Children's Hospital.

Blake stayed with her at LA Children's Hospital and I stayed with Carter at a hotel for the week.

Carter and I went to Universal Studios while Kennedy and Blake were in the hospital.  You can read more about our day here.

Carter and I also visited DTD while Kennedy and Blake were in the hospital.  You can read more about our day here.

August

Carter and Kennedy started back to school in person.  Carter got braces.  We celebrated Carter's 10th birthday Pokémon style and Blake's birthday with his favorite cupcakes.  Kennedy ended up back in the hospital at Valley Children's due to her SIBO and small intestines.

You can read more about how we get ready for back to school here.

September

We spent most of the month at home and decorating for fall.  You can see more of our décor here.

October

We headed back to our happy place Disneyland for the first time since it re-opened in April!  We attended the Oogie Boogie Bash and spent a few days at the parks and we had the best time.  We also shared our 31 costumes for the entire month of October.  We spent Halloween at home with homemade pizzas and a glow in the dark pumpkin/candy scavenger hunt.

You can read about all our fun here.

December

We went to Universal Studios to celebrate Grinchmas.  We also visited The Grove, cozied up in matching pajamas, and the kids got their second dose of the vaccine.  The kids got to interview the cast of the Netflix movie Back To The Outback, we donated toys to Valley Children's Hospital where Kennedy has spent far too much time, and overall we had a wonderful Christmas at home.

You can check out more about the movie, watch a trailer and see all our interviews with the cast here.

In November when we were visiting Disneyland we were asked if we wanted to be in the audience while Gwen Stefani performed for Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade.  Blake and the kids ended up riding rides and eating snacks but I stayed and loved it.

And Christmas morning we saw me on TV!

Overall 2021 was not so bad.  I am so grateful that we were able to figure out Kennedy's latest health setback and have a wonderful team that looks after her at Valley Children's Hospital and now a team at LA Children's Hospital when we are visiting SoCal.  I am so grateful for the opportunities we were blessed to attend and the fun we had.  There is nothing more important to me than making memories with this family of mine, but also doing it safely with how dangerous everything is right now.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for following along, reading this blog, following me on my social media outlets and always caring for our family.  We worked with so many amazing companies/ brands and interviewed so many wonderful celebrities and screened so many movies for Netflix, HBO Max, Paramount+, Disney+, Disney Channel, Disney Junior, and more. It is always such an honor to be asked to screen movies early and share my reviews and thoughts.  It has been a blessed year and I can't wait to see what 2022 holds.
