Our Day Trip To Solvang

Looking for something fun and unusual to do while visiting Solvang? Visit OstrichLand USA!  I have been wanting to visit OstrichLand USA for a while now and I was so happy we were able to fit it in on our recent trip to Southern California.  It is considered a Central Coast landmark.  OstrichLand USA in Buellton is a popular destination and a great first stop when you’re headed to the quaint Danish themed town of Solvang, the Chumash Casino, or Santa Ynez Valley wineries.

There are 100+ amazing ostriches and emus that are adored by people of all ages. Locals often bring guests to see “Buellton’s favorite pets.”  OstrichLand USA is unforgettable. You’ll always remember the time you spent watching, feeding and getting to know the amazing ostriches and emus.

The highlight of a visit to OstrichLand is feeding the ostriches and emus. These big birds are a rare and unique sight in this part of the world and are sure to make you smile. OstrichLand USA provides a way for you to be up close and personal with these big birds and safe at the same time. The backdrop of the landscape on which they roam is quite lovely and seeing them walking about on the plain that resembles their native desert is like being in another place and time. OstrichLand is fun for the whole family.

There is a gift shop. Admission is $5 for adults, children 12 and under are $2 and the feed is a $1 OstrichLand USA is located 610 E Highway 246 Solvang, CA 93463  Click here for more information about OstrichLand USA.

After our visit to OstrichLand USA we went into the town of Solvang and walked the beautiful streets, ate, shopped, and had the most wonderful time.  The people were so nice and we loved it!

Solvang is a city in Southern California's Santa Ynez Valley. It's known for its Danish-style architecture and many wineries. I have been wanting to visit after seeing Hallmark Christmas movies filmed in Solvang. It just looked so cute. My favorite was the Solvang Bakery. The employees were so nice and we left with slices of cake, cookies, Danishes, and so much more! We had lunch at Panino, which several people recommended. It was so good. We all had delicious sandwiches and I would totally go back.
