Back To The Outback Now Streaming On Netflix

Netflix is here this holiday season with an all new animated movie for children and families that you will sure love. Last week we screened the movie Back To The Outback and it was adorable. The movie is full of gorgeous scenes, funny one liners, adorable animals, and more. We loved this movie!  Back To The Outback is an animated adventure that proves just because something's different, doesn't mean it isn't beautiful.  I liked that it reminded us not to judge a book by its cover, or a snake by her fangs.  It's what's in your heart that matters.

The movie is about a group of animals tired of being locked in a reptile house where humans gawk at them like they're monsters.  A ragtag group of Australia's deadliest creatures plot a daring escape from their zoo to the Outback, a place where they'll fit in without being judged for their scales and fangs. Leading the group is Maddie, a poisonous snake with a heart of gold, who bands together with a self-assured Thorny Devil lizard named Zoe, a lovelorn hairy spider named Frank, and a sensitive scorpion named Nigel. But when their nemesis Pretty Boy, a cute but obnoxious koala, unexpectedly joins their escape, Maddie and the gang have no choice but to take him with them. So begins a hair-raising and hilarious road trip across Australia, as they are pursued by zookeeper Chaz and his adventure seeking mini-me.  Back To The Outback is an animated adventure that proves just because something's different, doesn't mean it isn't beautiful.  The movie is rated PG and 1 hour and 35 mintues.

We also got to sit down and interview Isla Fisher who is an Australian actress who voices Maddie, a kind-hearted taipan.  Check out our interview here.  It was so fun to listen to her explain why she wanted to play Maddie, what it was like filming during the pandemic and her favorite scene.  She was just lovely to interview and we are such big fans.

We also had the pleasure of interviewing Tim Minchin who is an Australian comedian, actor, writer, musician, and songwriter who voices Tom/Pretty Boy, a well-liked but irritable koala.  Check out our interview here.  It was so fun to hear why he wanted to take on the role as Tom/Pretty Boy, what it was like filming during the pandemic, and how he wrote songs for the soundtrack for the film and more.

We also got to interview the directors Clare Knight and Harry Cripps.  It was so fun to hear how we should eat a Tim Tam, why they chose the animals they did for the film and so much more.

The soundtrack features two original songs written by musician, comedian, actor, and writer Tim Minchin, who also voices the character of Pretty Boy in the film. Evie Irie lends her vocals in a duet with Minchin for “Beautiful Ugly,” while “Maddie’s Lullaby” is performed by Indigenous Australian singer-songwriter Thelma Plum. The soundtrack is available everywhere now from Milan Records here.
