Dora And The Lost City Of Gold

Eva Longoria (she plays Dora's mom) and Director James Bobin

Yesterday we were invited to a private screening of Dora And The Lost City Of Gold.  It was a great movie and the kids loved it.  Carter is almost 8 and Kennedy is 5 and they understood the entire movie and laughed and loved every minute of it.  The kids have grown up watching Dora, so it was very fun seeing it come to life on the big screen.

The Angry Birds 2 Movie August 14th

This weekend we went to an event at the Howard Johnson (which is my FAVORITE hotel in Anaheim) for The Angry Birds 2 Movie.  It was located right at the Castaway Cove so the kids could splash and have fun.  The movie comes out August 14th.  The first movie is so good, so make sure you see the first movie before seeing the second one in theaters.  You still have time!  Who still has the game on their phone?!  My kids love that game.  Thank you Sony Animation, Howard Johnson, and Kathy for hosting such a great event.  The kids had a blast!

Summer Cleaning With Bona

This post is sponsored by Bona, but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

Okay, it's time for summer cleaning. Summer vacation is in full force and no one likes going on vacation and coming home to a messy house. It is always satisfying to come home to a clean home you can just relax in. Everyday is an exciting day during summer! Long summer days mean more opportunity to get together with friends and family to celebrate the season. I want to share with you how Bona helps me keep the house clean so I don't ever have to miss out on any of the fun.

Update On Kennedy

It has been 5 months since Kennedy had surgery for the second time on her small intestines. I have been meaning to write this blog post and update everyone on her progress, but the days just slip through my fingers sometimes. You can click here to read about her first surgery and click here to read about her second surgery. Overall, Kennedy is doing exceptionally well and we are beyond proud of all of her accomplishments and I wanted brag a little bit about my baby girl today on the blog.

Disney Junior T.O.T.S. - Our New Favorite Bundle Of Joy

Last month a new show premiered on Disney Junior and my kids were instantly obsessed with it. T.O.T.S. (Tiny Ones Transport Service) is an animated show created by Travis Braun. The show is about Pip the penguin and Freddy the flamingo, two delivery birds in-training at T.O.T.S. who are the non-stork delivery birds at the corporation. Together, the two help take care of the babies and travel around the globe to find their forever families in need while learning to solve problems. Vanessa Williams and Megan Hilty voice characters on the show. I love that it teaches kids that all families are not the same.

Disney's The Lion King Premiere

Tuesday night I attended the red carpet movie premiere for Disney's The Lion King in Los Angeles at The Dolby Theater. It was my first time attending a red carpet premiere and my first time in The Dolby Theater. It was seriously such an amazing day. My sweet friend Jenny invited me as her guest and I can't thank her enough.

15 Years

Blake and I celebrate our 15 year wedding anniversary today! We started dating in March of 1996 and we were high school sweethearts, now together more than 23 years! Every day when I look at Blake I thank God for blessing me with the most amazing husband in the whole world. He is my best friend and I would be lost without him. Every day is a new adventure with Blake and we have so much fun together. I would not want to share all my hopes, dreams, or love with anyone else but him. I feel so lucky to have found Blake so young that we have basically grown up together and have accomplished so many dreams with one another. We have so much to celebrate this anniversary. We also have so much to be grateful for this anniversary and all I have to do is look at Blake, Carter, and Kennedy to be reminded of how lucky I truly am! Blake, you have given me the two best gifts in life, I am a wife and a mother. Love you then, love you still, love you now, and always will.

Handmade Simba and Nala Costumes With Primary

The king arrives this month!  We are so excited to see Lion King on July 19th. The cast includes Beyonce, Seth Rogan, James Earl Jones, and more. It is going to be amazing. Just like in the 1994 film, Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny on the plains of Africa. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub's arrival. Scar, Mufasa's brother and former heir to the throne, has plans of his own. The battle for Pride Rock is soon ravaged with betrayal, tragedy and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba's exile. Now, with help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba must figure out how to grow up and take back what is rightfully his.  I can't wait to see this movie.  Every time I watch the trailer I get so excited.  Today I decided to make handmade Simba and Nala costumes that required no sewing, just my trusty glue gun.  So get ready to roar and put your mane on!
