Celebrate Pixar Fest and Pixar Pier This Summer

Pixar Fest is happening now through September 3rd. We just spent 2 days in the parks to check out Pixar Pier and I am here to share with you everything you need to know in case you are planning a trip. We celebrated our favorite Pixar stories in both parks and it was so much fun. The characters, decor, entertainment, limited-edition merchandise, and themed food & beverage options were all amazing.  My mother in law, sister in law and her children joined us and we all had a great time.  Blake, Carter, Kennedy, and I have annual passes, and did you know that right now passholders can celebrate friendship and beyond by getting up to 40% off a 1-Day Park Hopper Ticket for two friends each day?!  This is happening until September 3rd, so we were able to get a discount on tickets for the family members who joined us.  It was really great.

Make sure you check out the Pixar character topiaries in Downtown Disney. They are amazing.

Love these signs that are at the entrance to both parks!

Disneyland:

Together Forever: A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular lights up Disneyland Park like never before with dazzling pyrotechnics, musical themes from the films and most importantly the timeless theme of friendship ever present in most Pixar stories. I cried like a baby watching this fireworks show. Make sure you get a seat right in front of Sleeping Beauty's Castle. We waited about 2 hours, but it was totally worth it. I just brought lots of snacks and the kids played on their iPads until it was time for the show. Honestly, this show is amazing and I can't even put it into words. The fireworks show is nightly at 9:30 pm. You can also view the fireworks from Small World and on Main Street as well.  I do not recommend watching them from Main Street (it was hard to see everything).  You can see photos of the Together Forever A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular here.

Fantasmic is also in Disneyland at The Rivers of America.  It happens nightly 9 pm and 10:30 pm.  Show tickets are available starting at park opening along the Rivers of America near Frontier Landing.  You can also buy dinner packages at Blue Bayou and River Belle Terrace or On-the-Go meals at Hungry Bear Restaurant.  You can make reservations by calling 714-781-3463.

The Pixar Play Parade is in Disneyland Park for the very first time. This beloved parade begins as most Pixar stories do with a first time appearance by the adorable Pixar lamp, followed by new show elements starring characters from Up and Inside Out. This parade is adorable and I loved it. Just an FYI, you do get wet at certain points during this parade if you are right in front. The parade is daily at 3:30 pm and 6:00 pm.

Don't forget to ride these 2 Pixar rides in Disneyland: Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters and Finding Nemo Submarine.

DCA:

Paint the Night parade returns! Only this time it's at Disney California Adventure Park! This mesmerizing procession spotlights many Pixar stories, including characters from Toy Story, Monsters, Inc. Cars, The Incredibles and more. The parade plays nightly at 8:50 pm. There are Paint the Night dining packages and you can read about them here. This parade is our favorite ever.

Pixar Shorts: a new film festival taking place throughout much of Pixar Fest, will offer rotating favorites such as For the Birds and Lava at the Sunset Showcase Theater in Hollywood Land. I love these little shorts. Plus, it is a great way to relax or cool off for just a little bit this summer when you are in the parks.

Don't forget to check out these Pixar rides and shows in DCA: Incredicoaster (I rode it 3 times and it was amazing), Flick's Flyers, Francis Ladybug Boogie, Heimlich's Choo Choo Train, It's Tough To Be A Bug, Princess Dot Puddle Park, Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters, Mater's Junkyard Jamboree, Monster's INC., Radiator Springs Racers, Tuck and Rolls Drive 'Em Boogies, Turtle Talk With Crush, Toy Story Midway Mania.

Don't forget to visit A Bug's Land before it closes this summer. You can read about it closing here. In A Bug's Land at Blueberry Scout Jamboree you can find coloring pages, scavenger hunts, and cute crowns to wear.

Living her best life, being strolled around with her own fan and snacks

You can see your favorite characters in Pixar Pier from park opens until 7:30 pm

This was the highlight of the trip. They love Edna!

The fried chicken and coleslaw was life changing. It was so good!

We missed the opening of Bing Bong's Sweet Stuff by just a few days. Looks like I need to go back ASAP to check it out.

This was the highlight of the trip for me - eating at Lamplight Lounge at Pixar Pier. It was so amazing inside and everything was delicious. All 8 of us LOVED our meals.

My kids had the butter and cheese pasta, veggies, and fruit

I had the burger and fries

The donuts were life changing! That raspberry dipping sauce... OMG!

Kennedy's new Marie the cat

Rough life!

One of my favorite places to eat in Disneyland is Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe. Best sandwiches, tomato soup, salads, pastries, desserts, and fountain sodas!

We were excited to see the Minnie wall in Toon Town. I am hearing that it is only temporary. It is just so cute.

We were so excited to be there for Disneyland's 63rd birthday! There was a special parade and we got to see every single Disney character in the parade. It was just so awesome! After seeing the parade I am going every year! It was so much fun.

Jennifer (in the middle) has worked for Disneyland for 16 years. I have known her since elementary school. I always love being able to catch up with her.

The Pixar Pals Dance Party is a must! It takes place in Tomorrowland Terrace nightly from 7 pm to 10:30 pm. The Pixar characters switch every 30 minutes.

The videos I have of Kennedy dancing with the characters is priceless!

The new Buzz wall is in DCA and it is right by the Monster's INC ride.
