XO, Kitty Season 2 Review

Blake and I love XO Kitty on Netflix. You can watch season 1 and 2 on Netflix now. It is rated TV-14, and is a young adult romantic drama comedy series. Let's do a little recap about season 1 that came out in 2023. Kitty had been expelled from school at KISS and was on a plane back home. She was newly single after breaking up with her boyfriend Dae because she had feelings for her friend Yuri. To top it all off, Dae’s best friend Min Ho showed up on the plane to confess his love for Kitty! So you know... just your average semester at school.

In season 2 Kitty is back at KISS thanks to Yuri pulling some strings. As soon as Kitty arrives, she’s assigned to a dorm with Yuri, Yuri’s girlfriend Juliana and KISS newcomer Stella. If that weren’t awkward enough, she’s also got to navigate her friendships with Dae and Min Ho. Kitty's goal is not to let romance get in the way this school year and focus more on finding out about her mom, who also went to KISS. There are a lot of surprises and secrets in season 2.

I loved this season. I really like how the series shows all types of representation on screen. It wouldn’t be a teen show without drama, and while Kitty and the gang’s romantic antics definitely bring it, platonic relationships are also tested this season. This includes Dae and Min Ho’s friendship and we don’t often see male friendships portrayed in this way. Family also plays an important role this season. Kitty's search for answers about her mom leads to a beautiful conclusion. I really loved that. Season 2 has so many thrilling twists and turns. I could not stop watching. Hopefully there is a season 3 because season 2 ended on a cliffhanger that needs resolution.

The series is about friendship, family, growing up, following your heart, and celebrating diversity. There are a total of 8 episodes in season 2. Make sure you watch season 1 first before diving into season 2. I also recommend watching To All The Boys I've Loved Before, To All The Boys P.S. I Still Love You, and To All The Boys Always & Forever. These 3 movies you can find on Netflix and you meet Kitty in these movies. You can watch it all on Netflix. I give XO Kitty 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for teenagers and adults. Thanks for listening.
