Why You Should Visit THE WALT DISNEY FAMILY MUSEUM In San Francisco

As you know we are huge Disney fans in this household.  The last time we visited The Walt Disney Family Museum was in 2017.  The kids were very young then, so we knew it was time for another visit.  The Walt Disney Family Museum is located in the Presidio of San Francisco and it is just magical.  It is perfect for the entire family.  You will learn so much about Walt Disney, Disneyland, Mickey Mouse, and so much more.  So come on, grab some ears and let's go!

From the moment you drive up to the museum in the scenic Presidio of San Francisco it is just beautiful and parking is easy and convenient. The entire museum is about Walter Elias Disney, the man who raised animation to an art, tirelessly pursed innovation, and created a distinctly American legacy that transformed the entertainment world. Throughout the 10 galleries you hear his voice, along with voices of people who worked with and knew him. There is so much to explore through the whole museum including interactive stations, videos, artifacts, information and so much more. You get to see early drawings, cartoons, movies, music, and there are over 200 video screens, but the most amazing part is the spectacular model of Disneyland.

These are original furnishings from Walt's Disneyland Apartment.

These are just some of the awards, certificates, and plaques that Walt Disney won.

The entire museum was just fascinating. If you love Disneyland and learning about Walt Disney then this museum is perfect for you. My children are ten and seven and they loved the museum and there were plenty of hands-on things for them to explore, play, and learn about.

The location of the museum is at 104 Montgomery Street The Presidio San Francisco, CA 94129. Please visit the website here for more information on current mask and vaccination policies. We felt very safe with the limited amount of guests and the health and safety protocols in place.
