It has been about a year that Carter has been into Pokemon. Every time we go to Target I am purchasing more and more trading cards, plush dolls, Mega Construx sets, a blanket, poke balls and more. He has been counting down the days until the release of Pokemon Detective Pikachu. We were invited to a few screenings this past week in LA, but unfortunately could not make any of the dates work with our busy schedule. So today (yes, on Mother's Day) I took Carter to see this movie. I had no idea what was going on, but sitting next to Carter watching him smile from ear to ear, shove popcorn in his mouth, and try to explain every detail to me (very loudly) was the highlight of my entire day. It made me so thankful to be his mama! He is just the best boy and was so excited to see this movie.
The movie is about a detective named Harry Goodman who goes mysteriously missing, prompting his son Tim to try and find out what happened to him. Aiding in the investigation is Harry's former Pokémon partner, wise-cracking, adorable super-sleuth Detective Pikachu. Finding that they are uniquely equipped to work together, as Tim is the only human who can talk with Pikachu, they join forces to unravel the tangled mystery. It really was a good movie. You should totally see it if you are a fan of Pokemon. I think they did a really good job portraying all of the Pokemon. When you go see it in the theaters they even give you a pack of Pokemon trading cards.
