Why You Need To Stay At Tenaya Lodge At Yosemite National Park

You will not find a lot of Yosemite resorts because many people who visit the park choose to camp, but I am here to share with you that I am not a camper and Tenaya Lodge is where it's at!

Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite is a beautiful full service resort just two miles from the south gate to the national park. If you are not familiar with Tenaya Lodge, it essentially offers the amazing Yosemite experience without having to rough it! Tenaya Lodge includes a main lodge, collection of cottages, pools, a variety of dining options, Ascent Spa, endless activities from mountain biking and guided hikes to horseback riding, tours of the valley, archery and more.

Tenaya Lodge just opened the kids adventure course. It is a fun, aerial trekking park comprised of a collection of challenge courses. The course has 6 different elements, including bridges, swinging logs, and rope challenges. Each element is approximately 18 feet in length, with landing platforms between elements. The course itself is 5 feet above the ground (perfect for little ones who want a thrill without being too scary) and includes an instructor to guide children along the course, as well as safety equipment, including helmets and harnesses. Participants must weigh between 30 and 100 pounds.

Enter a world of relaxation and rejuvenation. Ascent Spa offers a full range of treatments, including massage, body wraps, facials and nails. Or just come down and relax in the sauna and steam room and leave restored.  I visited the spa with a friend and we had facials and massages and it was so relaxing.  I do enjoy being able to get away for a few hours and pamper myself.  It was like a post-summer mom's rejuvenation day!  Plus, Tenaya Lodge is a very easy drive from Fresno.  I left in the morning right after I dropped the kids off at school and I was able to spend all day at the spa to relax and get spoiled.  It is so important to take time for yourself and unwind.  This spa was amazing!  They have showers, a sauna, steam room, refreshments, comfortable lounge chairs, a gift shop and more.  This spa had everything I could have wanted.

Also the spa is offering a special "add on" for my followers and readers of a complementary hand or foot refresher with any spa treatment.  Just mention Christina Patricio.

This is the room where you can wait to be called for your services.  They had refreshments and magazines.  It was so nice.

I am so ready!

You can even order food in the spa so you never have to leave!

There is a sauna and steam room

There is a very nice gift shop in the spa

You can even pamper for your four legged friends!

There are several dining options, like the Sierra Restaurant, Jackalope's Bar and Grill (we had lunch here), Embers, TimberLoft Pizzeria, Harvest and Grounds Deli, and SummerDale BBQ.  All of the options are so good and perfect for every family type.  I have eaten several times at the Sierra Restaurant and it is so nice.  When I visited this time I ate at Jackalope's Bar and Grill and I swear Tenaya Lodge has the BEST french onion soup I have ever enjoyed in my life.  The drive to Tenaya Lodge for the soup alone is worth it!

The entire property is so family friendly and pet friendly too!  It has the most unforgettable lodging experience.  With the holidays approaching, Tenaya Lodge has so many fun family holiday activities.  We have spent time at Tenaya Lodge in the past making Christmas ornaments, gingerbread houses, ice skating, and more.  Here are a few things they have coming up this Christmas season:

Christmas dinner on December 25th from 12:30 pm to 6 pm. There's nothing quite like the holidays at Tenaya Lodge.  The decorations at the lodge must be seen to be believed, including the largest Christmas tree in the region. Of course, a sumptuous Christmas dinner with the family is an important part of the celebration. Get out for an early hike or ski to burn off some steam then come back for an amazing meal with all your favorites, live music and no dishes to clean up afterward!  Click here to make a reservation.

The annual tree lighting ceremony will take place on November 24th at 6:45 pm.

There is a kids dinner with Santa package.  Click here to make a reservation.

'Twas The Night Before Christmas With Mrs. Claus takes place on December 24th from 8:30 pm to 9 pm.  This is a FREE event!

Cookie Decorating Workshop on December 24th from 7 pm to 8 pm.  The cost is $25 per pack (4 cookies).  Click here to make a reservation.
