Our Magnifique Day At Fancy Nancy The Musical At Chance Theater

Meeting Robin Preiss Glasser (the illustrator of all the Fancy Nancy books)

When Fancy Nancy premiered in July on Disney Junior we became instant fans. We bought every book, plush toy, dolls, the entire season for the kids to have on their iPads, and Kennedy got a Fancy Nancy costume (which she is wearing for Halloween). I seriously feel like everything is Fancy Nancy lately. When I heard that Chance Theater in Anaheim was premiering Fancy Nancy The Musical I knew I had to get tickets right away for Kennedy!

I made Kennedy's bow!

Yesterday was finally the day! We saw the musical, which is based on the Fancy Nancy book The Mermaid Ballet. It was outstanding.  The Chance Theater is a small theater and absolutely perfect. Every seat is spectacular!  Right when you walk in there are friendly employees to greet you and check you in.  There is a little gift shop full of the best Fancy Nancy items and every single book imaginable.

The musical is about Fancy Nancy and her friends Bree, Rhonda, Wanda, and Lionel, who are going to be performing in their very first show, “Deep Sea Dances.” Nancy is positive (that’s fancy for 100 percent sure) that she and Bree will be picked to be mermaids. When another girl wins the coveted role of the mermaid, Nancy is stuck playing a dreary, dull tree. Can Nancy bring fancy flair to her role, even though it isn’t the one she wanted?

Lionel (he was seriously amazing)

It is wonderful for the whole family, ages 4 and up. It is 50 minutes with no intermission. You can get photos and autographs with the cast after each performance. Click here for tickets. It is playing October 5th through the 28th at Chance Theater in Anaheim

There are even some performances that come with a tea party after the show with the cast and illustrator of the Fancy Nancy books, Robin Preiss Glasser. We did the musical and tea party and it was amazing.  Robin was so gracious and nice.  She took a million photos with Kennedy and Carter and signed all 21 books that I brought (I even left some at home).  We loved meeting Robin, it is not everyday you get to meet someone as talented and amazing as her.
