Carter had some major outings this week. He went out to dinner with us, my sister, and the Smittcamps to our favorite sushi place Ooi and Baskin Robbins on Thursday. Then on Friday night we went to support Sophie, our favorite Greek, at the 51st Annual Fresno Greek Fest. We had too much fun! Looking forward to more outings and lots of fun adventures with our little man!
Our Weekend At Home With Carter
Sunday, August 21, 2011
This was probably the first weekend I can ever remember where I never left the house. It felt so nice! Here are some pictures from our weekend. I can't believe last Sunday I was at Clovis Community in labor! Time goes by so fast!
Our lives are complete
Wednesday, August 17, 2011
At 8:28 AM on Monday August 15th, 2011 Carter Stephen Patricio was born! It was the most amazing and difficult experience we have ever endured in our entire lives. I will try to update you all briefly on the events leading to his birth. Saturday night after we got home from Glee 3D I lost my mucous plug. You do not have to rush to the hospital if you lose your mucous plug, as it basically is a sign that labor is coming very soon. I was supposed to be induced Sunday night, but woke up Sunday morning around 4 AM with contractions and at 7:30 AM my water broke. My sister Ashley, Blake, and I headed to Clovis Community shortly after for the real fun to begin and papa Steve and grandma Nikki joined us shortly after. I was admitted right away since my water broke, given an IV for the first time in my life, and started the process of labor. I was in labor for over 25 hours and my epidural never kicked in (that is another story). I had very bad contractions the entire day and night on Sunday and all of Monday morning until Carter finally arrived. It took me an hour and a half (7 AM until 8:28 AM) of pushing before Carter finally decided to grace us with his presence. He has lots of hair and looks exactly like Blake. He weighed 7 lbs 3 oz and is 19.29 inches long. He is our entire world. Blake and I look at him astonished that we made him and he is now part of our family. We are doing well, adjusting to being home, nursing, and relaxing after a long and difficult labor. Thank you to everyone for your text messages, phone calls, visits, gifts, prayers, love, and support. Here are just a few pictures from our first 3 days with our beautiful son.
9 Months
Monday, August 1, 2011
August is finally here! Blake and I thought this month would never arrive. I am 9 months pregnant (38 weeks and 1 day). My due date is technically August 14th, so I have about 1 week and 6 days to go. Carter is now the size of a watermelon. He is about 19-22 inches long and weighs approximately 7 pounds. After going to the grocery store last night and looking at the watermelons, I must admit I’m getting a little nervous about labor and delivery. Blake is in busy season at work right now and I am trying to keep just as busy around the house doing anything and everything I can possibly think of before Carter arrives. I am still working on Carter’s room, but it is coming along. I found a lamp for the table and the shelves are almost finished (I ordered book ends from Posh Tots and I am waiting for them to arrive). His wall letters finally arrived today! I only had to wait over 12 weeks for them. I know several people celebrating birthdays this month (17 to be exact), so I am sure one of you will be sharing your birthday with Carter! We are so very excited for his arrival and can’t wait to blog about the big event! Please pray for us this month that we have a healthy baby boy and mommy survives labor and delivery!
