Last Thursday, we shared our reaction to the new series Coven Academy, and after getting a first look at this exciting new show, we thought it was time to break down the cast something we LOVE to do! Coven Academy premieres on Freeform October 1, with new episodes streaming the next day on Disney+ and Hulu. Set in the haunted heart of New Orleans, Coven Academy follows three teenage witches and their dangerously charming warlock peers at an elite magic boarding school where power is currency, secrets are lethal, and attraction is a liability. Caught between ancient supernatural wars and forbidden love, the students must decide just how far they are willing to go to protect their city and themselves.
And this cast? INCREDIBLE. Let's meet them!
Malina Weissman as Briar. You may recognize Malina from A Series of Unfortunate Events, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Supergirl. She plays Briar, a fiercely independent New Yorker who discovers she's a witch. We actually just met Malina at the Camp Rock 3 premiere, and she was so incredibly nice!
Malachi Barton as Jake. From Camp Rock 3, Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires, Villains of Valley View, Stuck in the Middle, Under Wraps and more, Malachi plays Jake, a magnetic warlock with a dangerous edge. We are SO excited to see Malachi in this role! It feels like it could be something completely different from anything we've seen him do before, and we just know he's going to be fantastic. We absolutely love him!
Jordan Leftwich as Sasha. Jordan who you may recognize from The Family Switch, plays Sasha, a deeply empathic student who has the ability to read minds. Jordan is also a huge advocate for showing that living with Crohn's disease doesn't have to stop you from pursuing your dreams and doing the things you love. We can't wait to see her shine in this series!
Ora Duplass as Tegan. Ora from Their Town plays Tegan, a witch with the ability to bend time. Talk about a cool power!
Louis Thresher as Ollie. Louis known for Boarders, plays Ollie, a hungry, newly turned vampire. We have a feeling this character is going to be a lot of fun!
Tiffani Thiessen as Miss Graves. Tiffani known for White Collar, 90210, Alexa & Katie and so much more, plays Miss Graves, the head of the school. Having Tiffani as the head of a magical boarding school? Yes, please!
Devon Sawa as Mr. Cole. Devon known for Chucky and Final Destination, plays Mr. Cole, a brilliant and charismatic warlock professor. We can't wait to see what he brings to this world!
Sway Bhatia as McKenna. Sway from Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires, Succession and The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, joins the cast as McKenna.
Brendon Tremblay as Alexander. Brendon who you may recognize from Descendants: Wicked Wonderland and We Were Liars, plays Alexander.
Keegan Connor Tracy as Tamora. Keegan known for Final Destination 2, joins the cast as Tamora.
BJ Harrison as Agnes. BJ Harrison, known for Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Tooth Fairy and more, plays Agnes.
Nathaniel Logan McIntyre as Teese. Nathaniel Logan McIntyre, who has appeared in Michel, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, All American and more, plays Teese.
And seriously, look at this cast! From witches and warlocks to vampires, magical powers, forbidden romance and secrets, Coven Academy sounds like the perfect series to kick off spooky season.
