From the very beginning, Swapped is super fun and totally pulled me in! I love how funny it is, but also kind of sweet at the same time. There are parts that made me laugh out loud and other parts that made me feel a little emotional (in a good way!). It’s the kind of movie you can watch with your family and everyone will like it, which makes it even better. I didn’t want it to end!
The storyline is about Ollie, a little woodland creature, and Ivy, a bird, who do NOT get along at all. But then something crazy happens and they magically switch bodies! Suddenly, they have to live each other’s lives, which is really hard and also kind of hilarious. They go on a big adventure trying to fix everything and switch back and, along the way, they start to understand each other way more than they ever did before.
The animation is so bright and colorful, and it makes everything feel super magical and fun to watch. I really like how the characters move and make funny faces, especially when they are stuck in each other’s bodies, it makes it even more hilarious. The voices are amazing too, especially Michael B. Jordan as Ollie and Juno Temple as Ivy -- they make the characters feel real and full of personality. Tracy Morgan and Cedric the Entertainer are also really funny and add so much energy to the movie. The backgrounds and scenery are beautiful, and it feels like you are going on a big adventure right along with them.
The film’s message is that you should not judge someone before you understand them, because you never know what their life is like. It is all about kindness, teamwork, and seeing things from someone else’s point of view. I think it is a great reminder for kids and adults too!
I give Swapped 5 out of 5 stars and recommend for ages 5 to 18, plus adults. You can watch Swapped on Netflix beginning May 1, 2026.
