DISNEY ANIMATION’S MOANA 2 Review

Chee hoo! Moana, Maui, Heihei, Pua the pig and the dart-wielding Kakamora are back and that’s just for starters in the all-new big-screen adventure.  Walt Disney Animation Studios’ epic animated musical “Moana 2” reunites Moana (voice of Cravalho) and Maui (voice of Johnson) three years later for an expansive new voyage alongside a crew of unlikely seafarers. After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced.  See Moana 2 in theaters now.

Can I get a Chee Hoo! I have been so excited to see Moana 2. I couldn't wait to join Moana on her new voyage. I loved it. The visuals are stunning, the songs are catchy and I loved all the new characters. Stay through the credits! I saw the first Moana movie when I was only 2 years old and I have been a huge fan from that moment on.

After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she's ever faced.

Moana reunites with Maui (The Rock Dwayne Johnson) and a crew of islanders. The new characters are a wonderful addition. Moana has a little sister in this film and she is absolutely adorable. Moana 2 is gorgeous and the musical numbers are outstanding. The songs have been stuck in my head since I left the theater. The animation and visuals are stunning. The colors are specular but I would not expect anything less from Disney. I still think Moana and Maui are the best dynamic duo together on screen. The entire film is fun and vibrant. I could not take my eyes off the screen between the beautiful colors and incredible animation. I was dancing, laughing and singing along the entire time and it was one of the best movie theater experiences ever.

The film's message is about family, friendship, believing in yourself and knowing that you can do anything if you put your mind to it. It is about perseverance and staying connected to your roots.

I give Moana 2 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 5 to 18 plus adults. Get your boat snacks ready and see Moana 2 in theaters now. I highly recommend watching Moana on Disney+ before seeing Moana 2. If you are headed to DCA soon, go visit with Moana in Hollywood Land near the Monsters Inc ride. She is in a special setting inspired by her island home.
