What to know before you go to The Eras Tour

Swifties, here is your survival guide to seeing Taylor Swift in all her eras. I first want to say this was my third time seeing Taylor Swift and this was by far the best show I have ever seen in my entire life. If you love Taylor Swift and want to see her play songs from every single one of her albums, plus surprise songs, see the most amazing costumes, and the most beautiful dancers, this tour is a must!  Watch my reel here of all the fun we had.

I surprised Kennedy with tickets to see the show in LA.  She wanted to go so bad.  Watch the video here of me surprising her!  You can find the Taylor Swift book here.

If you are attending the LA shows at SoFi Stadium, parking gates open at 12 pm, doors open at 4:30 pm, and the show starts at 6:30 pm with 2 opening acts.  Taylor comes on around 8 pm.  When you hear the song Applause by Lady Gaga get to your seats.  Taylor starts after that song!

This heart is a must photo spot!  It was right by where we parked (green lot) and I think it was entry 5 into the stadium.

I took my daughter to the Eras Tour in LA at SoFi Stadium. This was my daughter's first concert and I was so excited to take her to see Taylor Swift. I was a little nervous. I have never been to a concert at SoFi Stadium and it is HUGE. I was nervous about the parking, whether my daughter would make it through the entire concert since Taylor plays 3 plus hours and goes past 11pm. I heard the merch lines were hours long and so many other horror stories, but I am here to share with you my experience and everything you need to know before you go.

We sat in section C136 row 2 seats 4 and 5.  They were great.  There were no seats directly in front of us, so we had leg room and plenty of room to dance and move around.  There was a screen directly above us to show us the stage, so we could still see the stage, Taylor and the dancers perfectly the whole time.  I purchased our tickets from Stub Hub.

Lately I have been dressin' for revenge (Vigilante Sh*t - Midnights album)! At the show you will see so many Swifties dressed in the most amazing outfits and costumes from all of Taylor's eras. It was so fun to just people watch and see all the hard work and time these Swifties spent on their look for the tour. Kennedy and I chose to go casual. I wore my lover shirt, jeans and sneakers. Kennedy wore shorts, sneakers, and a shirt I made her, since I was not sure they had youth sizes at the merch booth. They DO have youth sizes at the merch booth, so we got her a shirt before the show started and she changed into it. I also packed Kennedy a sweatshirt that I made in case she got cold. She did end up wearing it. I was fine in my shirt and jeans all night.

These are Kennedy's iron-on shirt and sweatshirt she wore.  She ended up getting a concert shirt since they had youth sizes.  But she wore the sweatshirt when she got cold.

We made her glasses and bracelets.  Her shirt was just an iron on.  It was so easy and the shirt was from Target.  You can find her shirt here and her shorts here.

She wears high heels, I wear sneakers (You Belong With Me - Fearless album). There were so many girls in boots, heels, and shoes that looked so uncomfortable. Remember, Taylor plays for 3 plus hours and you are standing up dancing, walking and moving around. I highly suggest comfortable shoes. Honestly, just wear the tennis shoes. I was so happy that Kennedy and I wore tennis shoes and we were so comfortable all night dancing. I don't recommend bringing extra shoes to change into when your feet hurt, or extra socks like some people have suggested. Do yourself a favor and just wear tennis shoes to the show. I saw girls in the merch line taking their shoes off and carrying them while they waited in line for merch.  My shoes are linked here.

Capital One has so many photo backdrops and fun things!  Check it all out.  The lines go fast.

Put the money in a bag and I stole the keys (Getaway Car - Reputation album). Check your stadium bag policy before going to the show. I believe all stadiums must have a clear bag. Most stadiums are 12x6x12 or smaller bag and a 4.5 x 6.5 clutch is permitted, but please check your stadium policy. This is what was allowed for Sofi Stadium in LA. Also everything was cashless in our stadium, so just bring your credit card or debit card.  My bag is linked here.  I added ERAS patches and star patches on it with Gorilla Glue.

Here is what I packed in my bag: debit card, ear plugs (which we did not use), cash (just in case of an emergency I always take cash), ID, keys, phone, charger, mints, hand sanitizer, packaged snacks (some stadiums allow food and some don't, so check with your stadium).

I'm walking fast through the traffic lights (State Of Grace - Red album). I strongly advice planning your parking ahead of time. I purchased stadium parking at SoFi Stadium through Stub Hub. It was more expensive, because it was a re-seller selling the parking pass, but I did not care. I wanted to be in the stadium parking. I thought it would be safer. We parked in the green zone and I loved it. It was a breeze driving into the stadium, parking in the green zone, and I parked by the exit and left with no problems after the show. We got to the stadium around 5pm if that helps with timing.  If you do not care to see the opening acts, 5pm was a great time.  It gave us plenty of time for 2 bathroom breaks, photo ops, merch line, get water bottles, and walk around and visit with friends that I knew.

It feels like the perfect night for breakfast at midnight (22 - Red album). Going to this tour and taking Kennedy made this one of the best nights ever. It did take a lot of planning and it was a long day. We had to drive to LA, check into our hotel, eat something before getting to the show and more. I highly suggest if you are not close to home getting a hotel close to the stadium. I did not love our hotel for various reasons, but it did have a Daily Grill located inside. It was nice to order food, eat before we left for the show and we even had left overs for when we got back to our room, since there was a fridge in our room. Think ahead and order something that you can eat cold, like a club sandwich or pizza. The food lines do move fast inside the stadium, so don't let the lines detour you from getting food or a snack or drink. We did not eat food at the stadium. We ate right before we left, and I packed snacks and I bought water inside the stadium. It worked out really well.  Our stadium allowed you to bring in snacks.  Check with your stadium before you go.  Also, have water bottles and some snacks in your car.  It may take you some time to get out of the parking lot depending on where you parked and every situation is different.  You might be thirsty or hungry, so have some snacks and drinks in the car.

Our song is the way you laugh (Our Song - Taylor Swift album)! Brush up on your Taylor lyrics. She sings 44 songs and plays for over 3 hours. Plus, she always performs surprise songs each night that aren't on the set list! Taylor Swift has created a set list of dreams for The Eras Tour!  I just wish I Forgot That You Existed made the list.

So make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it (You're On Your Own, Kid - Midnights album). Swifties at the Eras tour make friendship bracelets and you trade at the concert. It is so much fun. You will make friends and have the time of our life. Speaking of bracelets, when you go to the Eras tour you are given a light up bracelet to wear that lights up and flashes to the songs when Taylor performs. Usually the light up bracelet is given to you when you enter and scan your tickets. BUT at the LA SoFi Stadium they put them on your seat. I HIGHLY suggest going to your seat FIRST and getting your bracelet or making sure it is there and grab it. I have heard people are taking bracelets to sell online or to give them to a friend who could not make the show and want a little piece of memorabilia. So get your light up bracelet first, because if it is not there you need to find security or someone in charge to possibly get you another bracelet and that could take some time.

You got that long hair, slicked back, white t-shirt (Style - 1989 album). After you get your light up bracelet your next order of business is merch! There are actually merch tents outside the stadium before you enter. If there is something specific you want, I suggest getting there early or waiting at the first merch tent and just stay in line and do it. Believe me, they move fast. I was so discouraged by the lines for merch and when I finally picked one and stuck with it I think it took like 45 minutes. They do have youth sizes and a variety of merch to buy. Also, if there is an era or song you don't love, you could try to run to the merch tent when she is playing, but I don't suggest that. You should not miss a moment of this show. You could also go at the end of the concert as well, but sizes and items might be picked over.

If you want to plan ahead, or can't make it to the tour and still want merch click here.

Things that are completely prohibited at LA SoFi Stadium (and I am sure other stadiums) are chains, studded jewelry, strollers, noise makers, metal/glass bottles, signs larger 11x17, professional photography equipment, selfie sticks, lights or battery packs, and throwing items. If you have an item and you think it might be against the rules just don't bring it. It is better to be safe than sorry.

Also, if you can't make it to one of her live shows I have been following this tour like it's my favorite sport. You can watch a live stream on Tik Tok @tessdear because she goes LIVE every single show, so it feels like you are there.

The hospitality workers at hotels around LA are currently on strike.  We stayed at the Westin.  It was 2 miles away from Sofi Stadium, which was convenient.  The room itself was nice.  The strikers are LOUD.  They have horns, drums, and they are yelling and screaming.  We left for the concert around 5pm and they were still going strong.  When we returned home after the concert they were not outside the hotel, but they started back up at 5AM!  It was so loud we could not fall back asleep, so we got up and headed home.  I just wanted to share this with you in case you are going to LA shows the next couple of days.

To anyone who is contemplating going to this tour, I say do it.  Like immediately.  I really wish I could see it again.  If you love Taylor Swift, all of her albums and songs this tour is for YOU!  She plays songs from every single album and the costume changes and stage sets are amazing.  I don't know if we will ever see her play songs from every single album again on tour.  She is dancing and singing 3 plus hours and is so talented.  This tour is a must see.
