The highly anticipated animated series, Sonic Prime premieres globally today on Netflix. The action-packed adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog go into overdrive when a run-in with Dr. Eggman results in a literal universe-shattering event. Desperate to piece his prime reality back together and save his old friends, Sonic races through the Shatterverse, discovering strange worlds and enlisting new friends in an epic adventure of a lifetime!
The cast includes Deven Mack (Sonic), Brian Drummond (Eggman), Ashleigh Ball (Tails), Shannon Chan-Kent (Amy Rose), Adam Nurada (Knuckles) and Ian Hanlin (Shadow and Big the Cat).
Sonic Prime immediately puts Sonic and friends into a multiverse. If you are a fan of Sonic you will love the new versions of these characters and it will leave you wanting more. There are 8 episodes and each episode is less than 30 minutes long (except for the first episode, which is 40 minutes long).
What we liked most about the episodes is that it plays like a movie. The next episode picks up right where the last one left off. We sat and watched them all in one sitting. There are also lots of Easter eggs from the franchise so keep your eyes peeled.
Sonic's sneakers and gloves change depending on what universe he is in. We also liked that Sonic's friends become pirates, machines and more throughout the episodes.
Watch my exclusive interview with Deven Mack (voice of Sonic) and the SVP Creative, Animated Production WildBrain Studios Logan McPherson.
We also participated in a virtual draw-along with Sonic Prime, featuring animator Erik Wiese.
Thank you Netflix and Sonic Prime for the fun package to get us ready to watch Sonic Prime.
