8-Bit Christmas is a humorous and heartfelt look back at the adventures of childhood. Set in suburban Chicago in the late 1980s, the story centers on ten-year-old Jake Doyle's (Winslow Fegley) herculean quest to get the latest and greatest video game system for Christmas. The movie stars Neil Patrick Harris, Winslow Fegley, June Diane Raphel and Steve Zahn. It is rated PG and is 1 hour 45 minutes long.

It's nearly impossible to describe how much we loved this movie. There were times Blake and I were laughing so hard we were crying. There were times in the movie we would pause the movie while screening it, so we could share a story with the kids about the original Nintendo or cabbage patch dolls, etc. Blake and I really enjoyed this movie, and the kids were thoroughly entertained as well. As children of the 80s, the whole movie was a trip down memory lane. The movie reminds us that the reason for the season is to be present this holiday season with family and friends instead of focusing so much on the presents under the tree. It has such a great message.

I was honored to screen this movie and interview the cast a few weeks ago. It was so nice chatting with Neil Patrick Harris, who I watched growing up as Doogie Hoswer, and Blake and I never missed an episode of How I Met Your Mother. It was also nice interviewing Winslow Fegley, June Diane Raphel and Steve Zahn. Steve Zahn is absolutely hilarious in this movie! It was fun to hear about their Christmas traditions, the favorite gift they ever received, and if they were like the character they played in the movie. It was also fun to hear about their favorite scene in the movie and stories from when they were not filming. It was also fun to reminisce about the 80's and Nintendo and all the nostalgic toys and gadgets.
