Amazon Studios announced that they will release the action comedy, My Spy, starring Dave Bautista and Chloe Coleman exclusively on Amazon Prime Video this Friday, June 26th.
My Spy follows JJ, a hardened CIA operative (Dave Bautista) who has been demoted and finds himself at the mercy of a precocious 9-year-old girl named Sophie (Chloe Coleman) because he has been sent undercover begrudgingly to surveil her family. When Sophie discovers hidden cameras in her apartment, she uses her tech savviness to locate where the surveillance operation is set. In exchange for not blowing JJ’s cover, Sophie convinces him to spend time with her and teach her to be a spy. Despite his reluctance, JJ finds he is no match for Sophie’s disarming charm and wit. The movie stars Dave Bautista, Chloe Coleman, Kristen Schaal, Parisa Fitz-Henley and Ken Jeong. The movie is rated PG-13 for slight language and violence, but my two children are 8 and 6 and they loved the movie and I thought it was appropriate and funny. It is full of action and it has something for everyone. It is a great summer movie to take a break from the heat outside and cozy on the couch and watch a movie.
This morning we had the honor to meet over Zoom with Chloe Coleman, who plays Sophie in My Spy. She was so sweet to take the time to answer questions that the kids had about the movie. We found out how she loved filming the stunt scenes and how she started a swear jar on the set for anyone who used foul language where they had to contribute and she donated all the money to the Amazon Rainforest. She was just the sweetest and answered all of our questions and the kids loved it.
