Chatting With JOANNA GARCIA SWISHER About Sweet Magnolias

Every night once the kids are in bed, Blake and I enjoy watching shows together.  Just since March we have finished more than 15 shows!  The most recent one that we watched and loved was Sweet Magnolias on Netflix.  It stars JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Brooke Elliott, Heather Headley and more.  It is about lifelong friends Maddie, Helen and Dana Sue and how they lift each other up as they juggle relationships, family and careers in the small, Southern town of Serenity.  There is only 1 season so far and it is 10 episodes and believe me you will be hooked from the moment it starts.  Last night I was honored to be asked to join a zoom meeting with JoAnna Garcia Swisher to chat about Sweet Magnolias, quarantine, life in general and so much more.  It was a lovely conversation and I felt like I was on the show having margaritas with Maddie.

JoAnna García Swisher is an amazing actress.  She is known for her roles as Sam in Are You Afraid of the Dark?  Vicki Appleby in Freaks and Geeks, Cheyenne Hart-Montgomery on The WB/CW sitcom Reba.  She has also gained popularity with her acting roles in Privileged, Better with You, Animal Practice, Once Upon a Time, The Astronaut Wives Club, and Sweet Magnolias on Netflix.

It was so nice to chat with JoAnna about her role on Sweet Magnolias and you could just tell throughout the conversation how much she loves working on the show, the cast, the wardrobe, and the storyline.  I loved how we chatted about the show, but we also chatted about her children, her family, her father who recently passed away, her mother who has dementia, how she feels about shaving her legs, and how her oldest daughter broke her arm the morning of our meeting (and yes JoAnna still showed up for the meeting).  It was such a great interview and I appreciate JoAnna's thoughtfulness and how much she opened up.  It literally was like talking to your best friend.

You can catch Sweet Magnolias on Netflix right now. Thank you The MOMS and Glade for hosting JoAnna Garcia Swisher for an online #Mamarazzi interview to celebrate her Netflix show, Sweet Magnolias.
