Chaser Brand has teamed up with Disney for a special Little Mermaid line of clothing to celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Little Mermaid. I have always loved The Little Mermaid. This was the first Disney movie where the princess does the rescuing and she was the first non-human princess. I love that Disney brought a mermaid to the table, showing girls it is okay to be different and we are all unique and should celebrate everyone's differences. I love being able to share about these Disney princesses with Kennedy and how important The Little Mermaid is to girls everywhere.
I love that Ariel has an insane amount of confidence. Even when Ariel does not have her voice she does not change who she is one bit, even being in an unfamiliar world. She is out of her element, but does not try to blend in or take away from her personality. She is comfortable in her own skin (or new legs) and sets a good example to girls everywhere that you don't have to change yourself to fit in.
She is not afraid to stand up for what she believes in. She teaches girls to chase their dreams. You should always go after your dreams no matter how impossible they may seem.
She owns her mistakes. Along the way she makes mistakes, but owns them and admits to what she did. It shows girls that it is okay to make mistakes and learn from them.
She is not afraid to show emotion. She shows girls it is okay to cry and show emotion.
Ariel is resilient. King Triton destroys her treasures and tells her not to go to the surface, but Ariel finds a way to get there and sticks to her dreams. She can't use her voice, but she uses her personality and actions instead. She does not give up and her persistence and hard work pay off and she finally gets that happily ever after she wanted and deserves. I am teaching Kennedy her voice is her most prized possession and to not let anyone take that away from her. Follow your dreams, princess!
My Little Mermaid Chaser Brand women's clothing can be found below. The children's line will be coming out soon and I will make sure to update you once it is out.
