SoCal Spring Break

This past week we went down to Southern California and took the kids to Sea World and Disneyland.  We invited Blake's parents to join us and we all had a great time.  Thank you Steve and Nikki for all of your help with Carter and Kennedy.  We really appreciate it and had such a wonderful time spending quality time with you.

We started off our trip in Newport for a few days.  We ate at some of our favorite spots like Javier's, Tommy Bahama, Sidecar Doughnuts, Sabatino's and shopped at some of our favorite places like Balboa Island and Where's The Party.

We started off our morning early grabbing a Kids Day paper on the way out of town!  We love supporting Valley Children's Hospital!  Carter and Kennedy both had surgery there and stayed several days at the hospital.  We are so thankful to have Valley Children's in our community.

Sea World was so much fun.  We fed flamingos and sea lions and saw so many different animals.  The kids loved it.  I highly recommend Sea World.  I personally think it is only once a year kinda thing but it is fun, an easy walk around the entire park, lots to see and do, and you can easily get it all done in one day if you start in the morning.

We spent two days in Disneyland and California Adventure. We visited with characters, ate, walked a lot, road too many rides, participated in the Egg-stravaganza Easter egg hunt, watched the Paint The Night Parade and the fireworks. One of the main reasons we went to Disneyland is to participate in the Egg-stravaganza Easter egg hunt. I had heard so many great things about it and I could not wait to share this fun activity with Carter and the entire family. Special hidden eggs themed to Disney characters are hidden in Downtown Disney, Disney's California Adventure, and Disneyland. You have to buy a different map for each location.  There are 12 eggs to find in each place.  You get the cutest character egg shaped stickers to put on the map once you find the egg at each individual location.  Once you find all the eggs you get a character Easter egg.  There are 6 different character Easter eggs to collect, of course we not only have them all, but we collected a couple sets.

We got to ride the brand new Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters!  It was so much fun!

We decided to try a character breakfast for the kids since they are obsessed with characters.  Gramma Nikki treated us to the Plaza Inn in Disneyland.  It was wonderful.  The food was excellent the kids met some new characters that they have never met.  The kids ate well and overall it was a win.  I would totally go back.  We also love Ariel's Grotto, Disney's PCH Grill, and Goofy's Kitchen for character dining experiences.
