Kennedy is 12 months old today. She is wearing size 4 diapers. She is wearing a size 3 or 4 in shoes. She is wearing 12 and 18 month clothing. She drinks a bottle when she wakes up between 7-8am, then baby food around 10am and then a bottle when she goes down for a nap around 11am, baby food around 2pm and bottle at 3pm for her afternoon nap, baby food at 6pm and then just a bottle between 8-8:30pm and she is down for the night. She is still sleeping through the night and taking 2 naps per day in her crib. She still loves bath time and watching her brother all day and night. She is now pulling herself up on anything and everything to stand and can even balance for a while on her own. She can walk around a table or other object that she has her hands on, she has taken a some steps on her own. It is only a matter of time before she is fully walking. She likes feeding herself little baby snacks or small pieces of things we give her from our plates that are easy to gum and swallow. When she has had enough, she thinks it's funny to throw whatever is still on her tray onto the floor. This mama does NOT think that is funny. She says mama and babbles all the time. She tries to repeat other words, but nothing really makes sense yet. She is such a happy baby and a good sleeper. I am so blessed. We have had it so easy this past year with her, so I am praying this next year is just as good!
I decorated the bar cart for her birthday. I did a flamingo theme with hot pink, gold, black and white.
Kennedy got some flamingo goodies. If you don't have these two books in your collection, you need them now. They are amazing.
The cupcakes are from The Cupcake Bakery (our favorite). It was Carter's first cupcake when he turned 1 and Kennedy's first cupcake today.
I made Kennedy's hat and shirt.
She liked the cupcake!
Opening her gift from Auntie Ashley and Michael
Carter is loving his new water table. You can never have too many water tables! He got this today for having no potty accidents for 9 days in a row! That is HUGE in our house!
Flamingos on fleek!
We did not throw Kennedy a 1st birthday party. I know, I can see some of your mouths wide open and heads shaking (I have been seeing this over the last couple months any time someone mentions Kennedy's 1st birthday). Blake and I just decided there was not a good place to throw Kennedy's first birthday party (we do not like hosting parties at our house) and since May is such a busy month with several other birthdays and graduation season we just decided to celebrate today as our family of four. I am sure next year we will be having a party. We decided to take all the money we would spend on a birthday party and go to Disneyland. You can only imagine Carter's excitement, and of course mine.
Thank you to everyone who called, text, sent video messages, or gifts. That was so thoughtful of you to think of my sweet little girl and even though we did not throw her a party, some of you bought gifts still, we love you and appreciate that so much. It was not necessary but so thoughtful and appreciated. We love you all.
