Tot Time at the Fresno Chaffee Zoo

I am one of those mamas who likes to stay busy with my child. Right now we are participating in Little Gym, sampling a music class (that I am not totally sure about), and "mommy and me" preschool. Today we added Tot Time at the Fresno Chaffee Zoo to our weekly schedule (as if we did not have enough going on during the week). Today was our first class at the zoo and we LOVED it, and I am not exaggerating one bit. The class is 1 hour long and Carter participated and loved every minute of it. I was so happy to see that! Plus the class is only $8 every week since I am a zoo member. Otherwise it is $10 for non-zoo members. Today we learned about different animal skins. The kids got to feel a sample of tiger fur, zebra fur, a lion's mane, bird feathers, snake skin, and more. They sang a song and did an art project. While we were doing the art project the teacher (who is adorable and I just love her) got a baby hedgehog. The children were able to have a close encounter with the hedge hog and feed it a live worm. My niece Peyton and Carter were not scared at all and they did a great job. Each week the children will learn about different animals, sing a song, have carpet time, make an art project and have a close encounter with an animal. They will get to feed and pet the animals. The animal will either be brought into our classroom or we will go into the zoo to see it. I am so excited for Carter to experience this. Some of the animals coming up this fall will be the sea lions, giraffes, sting rays, owls, birds, reptiles, and the elephants! Yes, you read that correctly the children will get to feed the elephants. The instructor said that class in particular fills up quickly so I am excited we are already on the list for every week! I wanted to share some pictures of the fun we had today. Contact me if you want more information.
