Last week I had the honor of interviewing Mandy Moore… aka Rapunzel! Rapunzel has always been my favorite Disney princess, so this was such a full circle moment for me. I’ve been a fan of Mandy forever, from Saved!, The Princess Diaries, A Walk to Remember, This Is Us, and of course Tangled. When I was attending San Jose State, I waited ALL day in downtown San Jose just to be front row when she performed “Candy” Such a core memory for me! Mandy stars alongside Nate Bargatze in The Breadwinner, and this is Nate’s feature film debut! He is absolutely hilarious, and the two of them were both so kind during our interview.
The Breadwinner is such a funny and heartfelt family movie. Mandy plays Katie, the ultimate super mom who keeps the entire household running perfectly. But when her invention lands her a huge Shark Tank opportunity and she leaves for a business trip, Nate’s character suddenly has to figure out how to hold everything together at home. Chaos, laughs, and heartwarming moments definitely follow. It’s the perfect movie for the whole family and definitely a must see! Catch The Breadwinner in theaters May 29th.
