Dog Man Movie Review

Part dog, part man, all hero. From DreamWorks Animation creators of the beloved blockbuster franchises Kung Fu Panda, How to Train Your Dragon and The Boss Baby comes the canine crime fighting film adaptation of Dav Pilkey’s New York Times bestselling literary phenomenon: Dog Man. Dog Man is a visual treat. It is cute, colorful, fun, animated and Pawsome! Fetch all your family and friends and see this one in the theater. It is rated PG and at 1 hour and 34 minutes it is the perfect length for all ages to enjoy.

When a police officer and his faithful police dog get injured in the line of duty, a hare brained, but life saving surgery fuses the two of them together and Dog Man is born. As Dog Man learns to embrace his new identity, he must stop feline supervillain Petey the Cat from cloning himself and going on a crime spree.

The animation is visually appealing. It is vibrant and bright. The entire cast of voice actors give strong performances. I think they picked the perfect cast to voice these amazing characters. Pete Davidson voices Petey the main villain and does a great job. Lil Rel Howery voices the Chief and does an incredible job acting serious, also while being caring and understanding. It is action packed. I loved Petey the Cat's science lab and all his robot creations and inventions. The film is a lot of fun, full of humor and will keep you and your children engaged.

The theme of the movie is about friendship, family, overcoming evil with good, teamwork, and being responsible. I give Dog Man 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for younger viewers and parents. You can watch Dog Man in theaters now. Thanks for listening.
