Karate Kid: Legends In Theaters Now

Karate Kid Legends is EPIC!! This is the perfect summer movie — so much action, heart, and nostalgia! Whether you're hanging with friends or want to treat your dad for Father’s Day weekend (trust me, he’ll love it too!), go see it NOW. We had the best time!  We went to an early screening (thank you Sony Pictures for the invite).  Check out all the fun we had here.

In Karate Kid: Legends, after a family tragedy, kung fu prodigy Li Fong (Ben Wang) is uprooted from his home in Beijing and forced to move to New York City with his mother. Li struggles to let go of his past as he tries to fit in with his new classmates, and although he doesn't want to fight, trouble seems to find him everywhere. When a new friend needs his help, Li enters a karate competition – but his skills alone aren't enough. Li's kung fu teacher Mr. Han (Jackie Chan) enlists original Karate Kid Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) for help, and Li learns a new way to fight, merging their two styles into one for the ultimate martial arts showdown.  In theaters May 30, 2025.  Watch our interview with Ralph Macchio here.

Two branches, one tree. Karate Kid: Legends is about respect, resilience and finding strength through discipline and mentorship. The film highlights how martial arts is not just about fighting, but balance within yourself and with others. It shows that anyone can change their path with the right guidance and support. The Karate Kid: Legends brings back the heart and spirit of the original franchise with a fresh, modern twist. The film follows a new generation of martial artists while re-uniting iconic characters like Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Mr. Han (Jackie Chan). We even see Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka). The action sequences are intense and beautifully choreographed, blending traditional karate with modern stunt work. The cast, which includes a powerful performance by Jackie Chan reprising his role as Mr. Han adds depth and emotion to the film. The mix of legacy characters and new faces creates a strong connection between past and present, making it exciting for both longtime fans and newcomers. Victor (Joshua Jackson), and Mia (Sadie Stanley) are also in the film and deliver strong performances filled with lots of humor. The comedy in this film really brings it together. The humor is scattered throughout in random, unexpected moments, which keeps the audience engaged and entertained.

The film's message is about humility, courage, and the power of second chances, reminding viewers that being a true champion starts on the inside. Whether you're dealing with bullies, self-doubt, or family struggles, this film proves that with heart and hard work, you can overcome anything. I give Karate Kid: Legends 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 10 to 18 plus adults. See Karate Kid: Legends in theaters now. The film is 1 hour and 34 minutes and it is rated PG-13.
