Thank you Sony Pictures and Harold and the Purple Crayon for allowing us this amazing opportunity. Check back this week for more in depth interviews with the cast and more. Director Carlos Saldanha, Lil Rel Howery, Zooey Deschanel, Benjamin Bottani, and Zachary Levi
They have their spot on the purple carpet and they are ready!
Check out our interview with Zachary Levi! All 4 of us were so excited to meet him!! I mean he is Shazam and Flynn Rider! Kennedy made Zachary a bracelet and he put it on right away. He was so kind. He answered everyone's questions, went through the entire interview line, watched the movie in the theater with us (most talent leaves after interviews or introducing the film) and after the movie he stayed and talked with everyone and took photos with anyone who wanted a photo with him. He was just awesome. You can watch more of our interview with Zachary on our YouTube channel HERE. In Harold and the Purple Crayon, Zachary Levi plays Harold, a man who has had a magical purple crayon since his childhood which makes whatever he draws come to life.
If you know our Kennedy, you know she is very creative and thoughtful. She is always thinking of others and when we attend an event or premiere she loves to give something to the cast. Last week she worked all week making friendship bracelets for the Harold and the Purple Crayon premiere on Sunday. She was so excited to meet Zachary Levi (we are huge Shazam and Tangled fans). She not only got to interview him, but she also gave the bracelet she made for him. It reads "Harold" with alternating light and dark purple beads. He put it on right away and wore it the rest of the day. She was beyond happy that he liked the bracelet and hoped that he would hang onto it as a keepsake. Yesterday a follower reached out to inform us that Zachary Levi was on Jimmy Kimmel LIVE Tuesday night wearing the bracelet! Kennedy could not stop smiling. I just think that is the coolest thing ever. This definitely was the highlight of our week. Zachary Levi, you made a little 10 year old girl feel pretty darn special this week. Thank you! So now my request to all of YOU is to see Harold in the Purple Crayon in theaters August 2! It is an incredible movie with an inspiring message. We will definitely be seeing it again in theaters and supporting our new friend Zachary Levi as Harold.

We all had to jump in this photo. We love Zachary Levi!!
Interviewing the one and only Zooey Deschanel. Kennedy was so excited to chat with Jovie from the movie Elf and Bridget from the Trolls movies. She made Zooey a bracelet and she put it on right away. She was so kind and lovely. You can watch more of our interview with Zooey on our YouTube channel HERE. In Harold and the Purple Crayon, Zooey plays Terry, a single mom to Mel. She meets Harold (played by Zachary Levi) and Moose (played by Lil Rel Howry) who come from the magical world of the book Harold and the Purple Crayon. Her son Mel has a big imagination and goes on to help Harold, Moose and Porcupine get back home to the magical world of their book.
She is wearing the purple bracelet the kids made her!
We were so excited to meet her!
Lil Rel Howery plays Moose in the movie and he was so funny! Moose is one of Harold's friends and becomes human in the real world. Watch more of our interviews with Lil Rey Howery HERE.
Benjamin Bottani plays Mel (Terry's son) who befriends Harold. Watch more of our interview with Benjamin HERE.
Interviewing the director Carlos Saldanha. Watch more of our interview with Carlos HERE.
Director and cast introducing the film
The cast signed the book. Always a nice keepsake from the premiere!
Inside of his book, adventurous Harold (Zachary Levi) can make anything come to life simply by drawing it. When he grows up, Harold draws himself off of the book’s pages and into the physical world with his pals, Moose (Lil Rel Howery) and Porcupine (Tanya Reynolds), where they meet a widowed mom named Terry (Zooey Deschanel) and her son, Mel (Benjamin Bottani). Harold discovers that he has a lot to learn about real life and when the power of unlimited imagination falls into the wrong hands, it takes all of Harold and his friends’ creativity to save both the real world and his own. Harold And The Purple Crayon is the first film adaptation of the beloved children’s classic that has captivated young readers for decades.
This movie is tons of fun and filled with hilarious hijinks making the impossible possible. I love the comedy, the heartfelt story, the family values and the endless imagination. I really love how
they took the book and stretched it out and made it into something amusing and cinematic at the same time. I love watching Harold draw so many things throughout the movie that come to life on the big screen, like a plane, pies, a bike, a tire, and so many other things. Also, there is so much chemistry with all of the characters that you can feel it through the big screen, like when they all work together to help Harold find his dad. There are so many adventures they go on during the film. I love the scene when Harold and Moose go to Terry’s workplace and things get out of hand when Harold starts drawing whatever people are looking for. This film has something for everyone – it is a family movie, with layers that adults will enjoy as much as kids. The film’s message is to believe in yourself, never stop imagining and explore your creativity no matter your age.
Let's make a popsicle stick purple crayon for Harold and the Purple Crayon coming to theaters August 2. All you need are 5 popsicle sticks, double stick tape, regular tape, and a print out that you can find HERE. Paint or color your popsicle sticks purple and glue or tape them together. Add the crayon tip, black strips, label, eyes and you are done. This is an easy craft to do with kids of all ages and I am sure we all have popsicle sticks laying around since it is summer. See Harold and the Purple Crayon in theaters August 2. Watch the tutorial HERE on how to create a purple crayon out of popsicle sticks.
