Pencils vs Pixels & Interview With Tom Bancroft

Pencils vs Pixels is a new documentary that showcases the animators who bring your most favorite characters to life and celebrates the unique magic of 2D hand-drawn animation while exploring the revolution behind 3D computer animation.

This documentary is a celebration of the unique magic of 2D hand-drawn animation and an exploration of how the Disney Renaissance of the late 1980s and early 1990s led to an animation boom that was quickly upended by the computer animation revolution that followed. Narrated by Ming-Na Wen, Pencils vs Pixels features many of the legendary artists who brought these now-classic films to life as they guide us through the last few decades of animation and into the future that's yet to come. It will be available November 7th.

We loved watching this documentary. Most of you know how much Carter loves to draw and dreams of being an animator, so being able to screen this and interview Tom Bancroft was an honor.

Tom Bancroft has almost 25 years of experience in the animation industry, most of which was for Walt Disney Feature Animation where he was an animator for 11 years. He has been nominated for Annie and Rueben awards, spoken at the Kennedy Center and awarded an entry into the Chicago Children's Film Festival. While at Disney, Bancroft had the opportunity to contribute his talents to 10 animated feature films, five animated shorts, and numerous special projects and commercials. Among the classic films on which he worked are "Beauty and the Beast," "The Lion King," "Aladdin," "Mulan" and "Brother Bear."

Pencils vs. Pixels is available to purchase on major digital platforms November 7th.
