Swim Over To El Capitan Theater To See The Little Mermaid Live Action

Last night we were invited by Disney to screen The Little Mermaid at El Capitan Theater before it premiered in theaters today. We absolutely love seeing movies at the El Capitan Theater. We have seen several Disney movies, attended premieres and have soaked up all the magic that this beautiful theater holds. There is really nothing like El Capitan.  Thank you Disney for a magical night.  Watch our video here.

Every single employee was so friendly and nice. They answered any questions I had and they were so helpful. I am not kidding when I say every single employee was happy to be there and they were just so very nice. From the moment you walk up to the theatre there are several different movie posters to view and once you are inside you are greeted by the smell of popcorn, excitement and magic.

Downstairs you are able to view costumes and props from the movie.

The theater is filled with bubbles, a sea-tastic curtain show and confetti before the movie begins.

Once we entered the theatre I literally had tears in my eyes. Rob Richards played classic Disney movie songs on the house organ to entertain the crowd and get us in the mood for the feature presentation. The colors in the theatre are vibrant and amazing. There is so much to see and view, so make sure you take the time to really admire and check out the details of the theatre.

We saw the movie in 3D and it was amazing!

They also have complimentary booster seats for children who might have a hard time seeing the screen. Another helpful tip is that I recommend arriving at least an hour early if you are anything like me and want to look around, take your time, and take tons of photos.  We loved the movie and will definitely be seeing it again in theaters.

I was honored to meet Halle Bailey, who plays Ariel, and her sister Chloe at the Lion King premiere in 2019. Disney had just announced that Halle would be playing Ariel days before this premiere. It was so nice having a brief conversation and telling her how excited I was about this live action film. She was so sweet and genuine. I can't believe the day is here and the movie is in theaters! I am so extremely happy for her.

Halle Bailey is beautiful as Ariel. I could not stop crying the moment she started singing Part Of Your World. She was meant to play Ariel. You can feel her powerful performance radiating beyond the screen with the way she moves and her facial expressions.

Since the first teaser trailer came out we have shared about the movie on our YouTube channel @patricios and we could not believe it when Walt Disney Studios reached out asking to purchase our reaction trailer to use in a feature. I had no words and we were so excited. Thank you Walt Disney Studios for sharing our genuine excitement with the world. You can see the entire feature on our YouTube channel @patricios along with all of our reaction videos and shorts for The Little Mermaid.

The Little Mermaid is the beloved story of Ariel, a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. The youngest of King Triton’s daughters and the most defiant, Ariel longs to find out more about the world beyond the sea and, while visiting the surface, falls for the dashing Prince Eric. While mermaids are forbidden to interact with humans, Ariel must follow her heart. She makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, who gives her a chance to experience life on land but ultimately places her life and her father’s crown in jeopardy.

The entire movie is fin-tastic. It is just magical. It is the latest Disney animated film to be made into a live action film. The overall story remains the same, the classic and original musical numbers are breathtaking and it will have you singing along. The movie is so well done that it feels like you are transported under the sea!

I know there has been a lot of talk about Scuttle, Flounder, and Sebastian and their appearance, but honestly once I saw them on the screen I fell in love with all three instantly and they are hilarious. They will have you laughing out loud!!

Ursula is terrifying! Melissa McCarthy is so evil as Ursula. There is no one who could have played this part better. She is incredible.

We all thought Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric was a perfect Prince Eric. He was outstanding. We loved that the movie really showed Eric and Ariel's friendship and how they got to know each other before falling in love. They actually have a lot in common, which you will find out when you see the movie. They both have over protective parents and they both are collectors.

Here are some added additions to the movie that are not in the original 1989 film

1. Jodi Benson (who voices the animation Ariel) has a cameo in the film and it is so good.  Keep an eye out for her.

2. There are three new songs in the movie and we loved them all.  I highly suggest purchasing the soundtrack and believe me you will be listening to it on repeat!

3. Ursula is Ariel's aunt in this live action film.  This was not part of the storyline in the 1989 film.

4. Ariel saves Max (Prince Eric's dog) during the ship wreck and it is so sweet.  Max is the cutest dog ever!

Overall we loved the movie. The movie is 2 hours and 15 minutes and it is rated PG. We loved it from beginning to end. We loved that the movie stresses the importance of following your dreams and taking big risks in life. It also teaches parents to let go and let their little mermaids and mermen soar, even if it's hard.  Everyone will love this movie.  There is something for everyone.  You will fall in love with the characters, sing along to the songs, and feel like you under the sea.

The Little Mermaid is in theaters now.  I highly suggest seeing it at El Capitan Theater.

Thank you Disney for inviting us to screen the movie early and gifting us these fun goodies!
