Big Nate On Paramount+ February 17th

On behalf of Paramount+ and Nickelodeon, I was invited to a virtual press junket with the cast of the new animated series BIG NATE, based on the best-selling children’s books and comic strip written and drawn by acclaimed author and cartoonist Lincoln Peirce.  We were honored to screen several episodes and chat with the cast.  The new animated series Big Nate is going to be hit for the entire family.  We laughed and laughed and we all loved it.  Whether you are a fan of the books or this is your first time hearing about them, you will love this show.  Check out Big Nate on Paramount+ on February 17th.

The cast includes Ben Giroux (Nate Wright), Arnie Pantoja (Teddy Ortiz), Daniel MK Cohen (Francis Pope), Bryce Charles (Dee Dee Holloway), Carolyn Hennesy (Mrs. Godfrey), Rob Delaney (Martin Wright), Kevin Michael Richardson (Principal Nichols), Charlie Schlatter (Chad Applewhite) and Dove Cameron (Ellen Wright).

The series will stream beginning Thursday, Feb. 17, exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S., Canada, Latin America and later in the month in Australia. The first eight episodes will be available in the U.S. and Canada, with more episodes to be announced at a later date.

I was so excited to interview Dove Cameron who voices Ellen Wright.  We are really big fans of Dove.  We have seen every episode of Liv & Maddie and Descendants is on repeat, as well as the soundtracks.  We love the original music that she creates (Lazy Baby is our fav) and we met her once at the Angry Birds 2 premiere and she was beyond sweet with Kennedy.  She even took selfies with her on the carpet and at Starbucks later on.  She spent a lot of time with Kennedy and it was a memory we will never forget.  Click here to see when we met her in 2019.

It was so nice talking with Dove and finding out why she wanted to be part of this series with Nickelodeon.  It was also fun to hear about her favorite scene and episode and what she hopes kids take away after watching this series.  Check out my full interview here.

Then I got to interview Ben Giroux (Nate Wright), Arnie Pantoja (Teddy Ortiz), Daniel MK Cohen (Francis Pope), Bryce Charles (Dee Dee Holloway).  It was so fun to hear about their favorite scenes and episodes, if they could play a different character who would it be and why, why they wanted to be part of this series, and what they hope kids take away after watching the show.

Here are some highlights from the interview:

Bryce loves the Valentine's Day Of Horror episode. Dee Dee is a really good student and she is very into musical theater and performing arts and Bryce is very into that as well.  Bryce feels like she can totally relate to her character.  She is hoping kids watch the episodes and take away just to have fun and that being friends with everyone is important.

Daniel only auditioned for Francis and thinks he is exactly like his character.  Arnie thinks his character Teddy is mischievous and he was exactly the same growing up.  Arnie says growing up he was respectively disruptive and that is totally Teddy.  Ben loves the pilot episode because it includes Jack Black and he hopes kids just watch the show and laugh.  He hopes that each show brings laughter and positivity to kids.

The series will feature brand-new original storylines centered on Nate Wright, a sixth-grader with a never-ending need to prove his awesomeness to the world. Whether he’s dealing with disasters at home or detention at school, Nate is no stranger to a challenge. Luckily, he’s able to express himself through the world of cartoons that he creates. Charming, mischievous and a magnet for misadventure trouble is always fun when Nate is around.  Make sure you watch Big Nate on Paramount+ on February 17th.
