Splash Into Summer With Disney & Pixar's Luca On Disney+

Today is the day! Are you ready to set sail on an adventure in a beautiful seaside town on the Italian Riviera with SEA MONSTERS?! Disney and Pixar’s original feature film Luca is now on Disney+.  We were so excited that we got to screen it early before it was released and we LOVED it!  I loved this movie for so many reasons. I loved that the main character was a BOY! There have not been many movies lately that feature a boy as the main character. I loved the parents in the movie! They were very very protective over Luca and I could totally relate to this.  Blake and I traveled all over Italy before having kids and it was so beautiful.  It made me miss Italy, homemade pasta, gelato, and the friendly people!  You will love Luca.  It is an amazing film about family, friendship, and being yourself!

Check out the fun video we made for the movie here! We could not wait to compete in our own triathlon after watching Luca.

Set in a beautiful seaside town on the Italian Riviera, this original animated feature is a coming-of-age story about one young boy named Luca experiencing an unforgettable summer filled with gelato, pasta and endless scooter rides. Luca shares these adventures with his newfound best friend Alberto, but all the fun is threatened by a deeply-held secret: he is a sea monster from another world just below the water's surface! It’s about fear of rejection and eventual self-acceptance. The movie is 1 hour and 41 minutes long and it is rated PG.

I related so much to this movie because I have a son and he is starting to grow up, but I want to keep him safe and right in my sight at all times. I don't want anything to happen to him and especially after this year I am even more cautious. In the movie Luca is wide-eyed, and earnest to a fault, while his toothy, tubby and timorous mother, Daniela warns him not to go anywhere near the surface. Luca goes to the surface anyway and his mother finds out and goes to all lengths to find him on land.
