It's not easy being green! Back in December 2020, adidas Originals announced its collaboration with The Muppets. The sneaker features Kermit the Frog, one of puppeteer Jim Henson’s early creations from back in the ’50s. The Kermit the Frog Stan Smith shoes are here! They are playful, sustainable, and iconic.
It doesn't matter how old we are, there's always something we can learn from Disney's Kermit the Frog. Like while it might not always be easy being green, it's still important. These shoes are made from recycled material, part of adidas' commitment to help end plastic waste. They still look and feel just like the original Stan Smiths, but a "Kermit" graphic on the side reminds you to be a little more green like Kermit the Frog. This product is made with Primegreen, a series of high-performance recycled materials. 50% of the upper is recycled content. No virgin polyester.
The iconic character’s name, “Kermit,” can be found on the lateral, replacing the original “Stan Smith” branding. Rounding out the style is the Kermit illustration placed towards the rear and part of the muppet’s signature catchphrase, “It’s not easy being green,” on the heel tabs.
Stan Smith logos on the tongue and heel tab are paired with details from the world of Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars characters alongside the classic three perforated stripes.
