Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous is about a group of six teenagers that are trapped at a new adventure camp on the opposite side of Isla Nublar, where Jurassic World takes place. When the dinosaurs escape, the six teens go from strangers to friends to family as they work together to survive.
As huge fans of Jurassic World we were treated to a deeper dive into the franchise. Not only did we get to see places on Isla Nublar that were only hinted at in the movies, but we got to dip in and out of the Jurassic World timeline in a way that rewards us of the franchise without losing the newcomer to Jurassic. The whole first season wraps around the events of the first Jurassic World.
The show is filled with awe-inspiring dinosaurs, both fan favorites (Velociraptors, T-Rex, Indominous Rex) and some never before seen that viewers are sure to love. The creative team on Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous is incredible. Steven Spielberg, Colin Trevorrow and Frank Marshall, are all synonymous with the Jurassic Franchise success and serve as EPs on the show. The quality of the animation and storytelling is unparalleled!
This is a series everyone can enjoy. The show stays true to the tone and action set forth by the movies. It is as exciting and heart pounding as the movies, but with less on screen gore and violence so as a family we can safely watch together and enjoy. Everyone will love the dinosaurs, Carter and Kennedy connected to the characters and Blake and I enjoyed tuning in to catch more of the Jurassic thrills and action we loved. The series provides a fresh perspective on Jurassic World. Every Jurassic movie has had major kid characters, but for the first time, the focus will be on them. My kids feel empowered by watching characters around their age learn to survive and prevail in the most unforgiving environments.
