Book Signing With Giada De Laurentiis

If you know me well, you know that I LOVE celebrities and I LOVE meeting my favorites.  My absolute favorite is Giada De Laurentiis and today was my 6th time meeting her.  I have been to every one of her book signings and I just adore her.  I have all 6 of her cook books, I make her recipes, I record her show Giada At Home (Saturday mornings on the Food Network), and I watch her on the Today show.  Needless to say, I am a huge fan.  She once did a show on her favorite places that she likes to eat in Santorini, Capri, Venice, Florence, and Rome.  Blake and I went on a Mediterranean cruise a couple years ago and I had to eat at all the places she recommended.  I would ask the owner of the restaurant if we could sit exactly where Giada sat.  Yes, I am little obsessed.  When I was pregnant with Carter and we did not know if we were having a boy or girl, if it was going to be a girl we were naming her Giada!  She is so kind and I always love meeting her and getting my latest cookbook signed.  Every time I meet Giada, she takes the time to talk to me about food, recipes, Italy, or today... Carter!  Let's just say if you were at Santana Row today, Carter stole the show!

Disneyland

At the beginning of each month Blake and I always go over our calendar, which typically consists of appointments, birthdays, anniversaries, parties, etc. This month we couldn't believe it was already April and Blake's busy season will be here in less than 3 months! So we decided it was time for a little road trip and some fun! I can't imagine a better place for fun than Disneyland! We left Tuesday morning and did not stop once! Carter slept almost the entire way to Anaheim. We checked into Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and were off to the park Tuesday evening. We rode a few rides and had dinner at our favorite place, Big Thunder Ranch BBQ! We woke up Wednesday morning and were at the park right when it opened. We rode rides, took pictures with lots of characters, ate plenty of churros, ice cream, and other snacks, visited with Heather and McKenzie Motichko and had the best time! Carter's favorite ride was Dumbo. We rode it twice and he smiled and squealed both times throughout the whole ride. He LOVED it. He loved meeting the characters. He would laugh, smile, and grab at their faces. We have been watching Mickey Mouse Club House, so he was very familiar with the characters. It made me so happy to see Carter get so excited and so happy to ride the rides and see the characters because Disneyland is my favorite place ever! We also hit up Disney California Adventure on Wednesday. We basically went to both parks on Wednesday and it was so nice to be staying right in Downtown Disney so we could go back to the room to rest and Carter could nap. We had the best time.

8 Months

Carter is 8 months old today. He is wearing size 3 diapers. He weighs 21 pounds. He is wearing 9-12 month clothing and wears a size 3 in shoes. He has his 2 middle teeth on the bottom and he is drooling like crazy, so more teeth must be on the way! He is eating rice cereal and all sorts of baby foods and crackers. He still does not love the rice cereal or most baby foods other than apples, pears, sometimes banana, sweet potato, and squash, but we still try everyday for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. He has even started eating table foods like waffles, pancakes, bread, crackers, and other little things. He seems to enjoy table food much better. I think he just likes feeding himself and making a mess! He loves sleeping in his crib. He stretches out and sleeps so well! I still watch the monitor all night and check on him a million times. I doubt I will never sleep through the night again! He sits up really well on his own now and rolls all over the place. Carter has become a complete chatter box and we even got a "ma ma" on Saturday! I have it on video to prove it. He still loves Yo Gabba Gabba or anything on Nick Junior. We started watching Mickey's Playhouse and he loves that too. I think he is fascinated with the TV and all the colors. He is such a good baby and we are so in love. We can't believe it has already been 8 months! Seriously where do the minutes, hours, days, and months go? He is getting big so fast and it makes this mama so sad.
